ULTRA Europe makes sensational return to Split, Croatia for ninth edition

Europe’s premier destination festival welcomed more than 150,000 attendees from more than 140 countries, in addition to millions of Ultranauts from around the world streaming the #ULTRALive broadcast

Destination ULTRA wraps up with events on the Islands of Brač, Hvar and Vis

ULTRA Europe concluded its most successful edition yet with an unforgettable comeback to Park Mladeži in Split, Croatia from July 7 – 9, 2023. Europe’s premier destination event welcomed more than 150,000 Ultranauts from more than 140 countries to experience some of the most internationally-renowned acts in dance music.

The festival’s ninth edition featured four stages, showcasing the world’s highest caliber of production across Main Stage, RESISTANCE, UMF Radio, and Oasis. The sprawling Main Stage displayed immersive LED screens and world-class pyrotechnics.

The Main Stage hosted a variety of stadium-smashing sets from some of the leading acts in electronic music. Friday evening was helmed by Dutch legend Hardwell who displayed his new forward-thinking sound in addition to German sensation ZeddSwedish House Mafia’s Axwell, and versatile artist Oliver Heldens.

On Saturday, the Main Stage welcomed global party starter and two-time GRAMMY-nominated act Steve Aoki to close out the festival with his crowd-igniting set which featured a bevy of unreleased tracks.  He was preceded by diverse performances from ULTRA Worldwide favorites like high-octane live instrumentalist and DJ Timmy Trumpetdance music sensation DJ SnakeParisian house music titan Tchamiand Swiss-South African deep house queen Nora En Pure.

Sunday’s Main Stage performers rounded out the stacked weekend of musical mayhem, anchored by Alesso who mesmerized the crowd with his euphoric brand of dance music. Additionally, Martin Garrix made a sensational return to ULTRA Europe to captivate the adoring crowd, who were still buzzing from performances by AfrojackW&WMorten and Fedde Le Grand.

ULTRA Worldwide’s esteemed house and techno concept RESISTANCE once again showcased the festival’s darker underground sounds with one of the most alluring stage designs in RESISTANCE’s history. Friday evening welcomed a stacked lineup of industry heavyweights such as Belgian superstar Charlotte de WitteDrumcode label boss Adam Beyer, as well as Enrico Sangiuliano and Oliver Heldens’ underground alias HI-LO.

On Saturday, RESISTANCE featured cutting-edge sets from Italian techno duo Mathame and UK melodic artist Massano, Brazilian DJ and producer Maz, and more. Closing RESISTANCE with a two-hour performance, masked producer/DJ Boris Brejcha bewitched the ULTRA Europe crowd with his unparalleled signature sound.

On Sunday, RESISTANCE was rounded out by Australian techno artist Juliet FoxUltra veteran and international party starter Nicole Moudaber as well as a special hybrid closing set from the legendary Carl Cox.

The musical programming didn’t stop when ULTRA Europe finished – Destination ULTRA’s weeklong affair was still in full swing. The six-day program welcomed attendees to experience Croatia’s idyllic islands, with KSHMR headlining the Regatta Party at 585 Club, Bol, Brač on Monday, July 10.

Next up was a double header at Hvar’s picturesque Carpe Diem Beach Club on Tuesday July 11, commencing with the electro-fueled ULTRA Beach Hvar day party that hosted an energetic performance from Afrojack. Shortly after, RESISTANCE Hvar kicked off the evening, featuring hypnotizing beats from Belgian act Maxim Lany, as well as German techno duo Pan-Pot who welcomed the sunrise over the breathtaking Hvar.

The final stop of Destination ULTRA took place on Wednesday, July 12, where revellers danced under the stars at Vis’ Fort George for the RESISTANCE Vis Closing Party with an energetic set Brazilian artist Maz and headlining set from UK duo Solardo.
